It is widely recognised that parents are the most influential force in a young person’s career and education decision-making.
Talking Futures is a suite of resources to help educators in England support parents to have constructive careers and education conversations with their children. Based on new research, Talking Futures seeks to establish and build on best practice parental engagement in careers decision-making.
A fundamental principle of the resources is that good careers guidance is the key to social mobility. As well as ensuring that young people have access to high quality career guidance, we need to give parents the same opportunity to learn more about different pathways and careers.
Talking Futures is funded by the Gatsby Foundation, a foundation set up by David Sainsbury to realise his charitable objectives.
